Sunrise Sailing – Paradise

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday.  Here’s hoping you can find some time to be creative…

Today I am playing with Alphabet (Letter U) for an Uplifting sentiment and choosing the Creative Colour (#226) Palette.

For the Freshly Made (#722) Sketch which I flipped to a mirror vertical slimline card adding Dies for Addicted to Stamps and More (#510).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (6½” x 5½” scored at 3¼”) Shy Shamrock cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3” x 5¼”) Blueberry Bushel cardstock.
• Background Panel: (2⅞” x 5⅛”) Sunrise / Sunset patterned piece of paper from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sentiment, You make the world a better place, from the upcoming Paradise Garden stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped on the diagonal with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Diagonal Strips: Blueberry Bushel (⅛”) Grosgrain Ribbon, retired but still in my stash added above and below the sentiment and secured with Scotch Tape.
• Decoration – Sailboats: Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze and Blueberry Bushel cardstock scraps die cut with the Boat dies from the now retired Sunrise Sailing Dies set.
  • The Sails were lightly brushed with Cajun Craze ink applied with a Sponge Dauber to reflect sunrise/sunset coloring.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped mirror sketch, and the floating Sails were popped up with Mini Dimansionals.

A nice card to compliment a friend or significant other.
