Bird’s Eye View – You’re The Best

Welcome back!  Chasing a few deadlines…and having some fun…

I am playing with the Retro Rubber (#264) Sketch and turned it into a Gate Fold card for Creative Creases (#111).

Design influences: Cupcake Inspiration (#633) for the Color Palette and choosing the Whimsical Bird for Critter Crazy (#107).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 2⅛” and 6⅜”) Basic Beige cardstock.
• Left Side Panel: (1⅞” x 5¼”) Gorgeous Grape Splatter patterned piece of paper from the 2025/2026 Regals Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Right Side Panel: (1⅞” x 5¼”) Timid Tiger Splatter patterned piece of paper from the 2025/2027 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Shape: (2¼” x 3½”) Basic Beige cardstock die-cut with the (2” x 3¼”) Arch die from the Everyday Arches Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Decoration – Bird & Books: (2¾” x 4¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • The Books and the Bird images from the retired Bird’s Eye View stamp set (circa 2023) were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink as was a second image of the Bird.
  • The Glasses image was added to the second Bird with Gorgeous Grape ink.
  • The Books and the second Bird were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Light and Dark Timid Tiger, Dark Highland Heather and Ivory.
  • The Books and Bird as well as the second Bird were fussy-cut with Paper Snips and added to the Arch with Dimensionals.
• Sentiment Banner: Gorgeous Grape cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, You are the best, from the retired Timeless Arrangements stamp set (circa 2023) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then trimmed and hand-flagged.  Resultant size: (2¼” x ⅜”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

I just love that Bird!  A nice little card for a student or a friend – thanking them for lending you a book…
