So Happy For You – Fragrant Layers

Hi again! Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#667).  Lots of lovely layers…

My design choices were influenced by Little Red Wagon (#843) for a Neutral Palette and Moving Along With The Times (#186) to create with Florals.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Early Espresso Two-Tone cardstock (light side) dry-embossed with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder.  The texture of the Wood was enhanced by using a Sanding Block (personal tool stash) to highlight the white core and the Panel edges were also distressed by using Paper Snips.
• Cross Strip Accent Mat: (4⅞” x 1⅝”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
• Cross Strip: (4¾” x1½”) Pecan Pie Antique Words patterned piece of paper from the Nature’s Walk Designer Series Paper pack.
• Banner Accent Mat: (1⅞” x 3⅞”) Very Vanilla cardstock punched with the retired Triple Banner Punch.
• Banner: (1¾” x 3¾”) Dogwood patterned piece of paper from the Brushed With Beauty Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product, also flagged with the Triple Banner Punch.
• Sentiment Label Accent Mat: (3” x ¾”) Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
• Sentiment Label: Early Espresso cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, So Happy For You, from Fragrant Layers stamp set, another On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then trimmed to (2⅞” x ⅝”).
• Decoration – Flowers: Small Floral patterned piece of paper, also from the Brushed With Beauty Designer Series Paper pack.  A spray of Flowers were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.  A few Very Vanilla retired Classic Matte Dots were added to complete the card.
