Fragrant Layers – Hello

Welcome back!  I have a pretty hello card for you today…

Some creative expression using supplies in my stash that need to see a little love for a CASE of Marga Bultena’s card for this week’s Facebook’s Global Design Project (#532) incorporating the palette suggested by Facebook’s SU! Color (#2601).

Here is the result:

FRAGRANT LAYERS – GDP532 – SUCC2601

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Peach Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock die cut with the Stitched Oval die from the Impressions Abloom Dies set, still available but now on the Last Chance List.
    • The Frame was removed and then the Panel and Oval Inset were dry-embossed with the Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Frame: (3½” x 5½”) Strawberry Slush cardstock also die-cut with the same Stitched Oval die.
    • The Background Panel and the Frame were adhered to the card front, and the Oval Inset was popped up with Dimensionals.
  • Accent Shape(s) – Rectangles: (6” x 1¼”) Cloud Cover cardstock die-cut twice with the (2½” x 1⅛”) Lacy Rectangle die from the Sentimental Framing Dies set, also still available but on the Last Chance List and then adhered to Ovel Inset.
  • Decoration – Flowers: The White/Peach and Pink Roses were fussy-cut with Paper Snips from the Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired Close To My Heart Secret Garden Paper Packet.
    • Using a small Blending Brush, Strawberry Slush ink was applied to darken the Pink Rose.
    • The Roses were then adhered with Dimensionals.
  • Sentiment Label: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Hello, from the Fragrant Layers stamp set, another On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Cloud Cover ink and punched out with the retired (3/4” x 15/16”) Oval Punch and popped up with a few Mini Dimensionals

Lots of dimension and texture mimicking the general layout of Marga’s card for a very pretty card.
