To A Great Guy at Christmas – Nature’s Symphony

I’m back.  Chasing another deadline.  This time for Jingle Belles (#2602) to create with Something Old and Something New.

My design decisions were influenced by Double Trouble (#208) with 3 Colors (Blue, Green and Orange), 2 Images (Popped Up Creatures) and 1 Sentiment, add a Penguin and use the Try Sketch on Tuesday (#687) Layout.

I am also sharing this whimsical holiday card with Farm Quest Country Christmas (#28).

Here is the result:

NATURE’S SYMPHONY – WHITE CHRISTMAS – JB2602 – DT208 – TSOT687 – FQCCCB28

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Balmy Blue Snowflake patterned piece of paper from the retired A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Cross Panel: (4” x 3”) Hilly Snow Forest patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack.
  • Shapes – Penguin and Snowman: Both fussy-cut from one of the Playmates patterned pieces of paper from the retired Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper pack along with the Little Bird.
  • Sentiment Banner: Balmy Blue cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, To a great guy, from the new Nature’s Symphony stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy ink as was the truncated sentiment, At Christmas, from the retired White Christmas stamp set.
    • The Banner was created with the retired Banner Pick a Punch. The final size: (3⅛” x ⅞”) and then the edges were colored with Night of Navy ink applied with a Sponge Dauber.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a variation of the sketch.  The Playmates and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.

A cute outdoor holiday card for a fellow.
