Country Fresh – Hello

Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#666).  A nifty layout with rectangular shapes…

My design was influenced by Inspired By (#372) for the colors, gingham, bird and buttons.

Here is the result:

SKETCHED PLAID – AHSC666 – IB372

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock pressed into the retired Sketched Plaid Background stamp using Poppy Parade ink to represent the Gingham elements.
  • Rectangles: (3¼” x 1¾”) Smoky Slate and Poppy Parade cardstocks die-cut with the Tag die from the Abundant Joy Dies set, a Paper Pumpkin Add-On product.
  • Hexagon Accent Mat and Hexagon Background: (2½” x 3”) Pecan Pie and Very Vanilla cardstocks die-cut with the (2¼” x 2½”) and (2” x 2¼”) Hexagon dies respectively from the retired Beautiful Shapes Dies set.
    • The Tags and the Very Vanilla Hexagon were all dry-embossed with the retired Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder for a bit of a knitted look.
  • Decoration – Bird: Very Vanilla and Pecan Pie cardstock scraps.
    • Using the retired Bird Builder Punch, the Bird and the Wing were punched out.
    • Using a Sponge Dauber, the edges of the Bird and the Wing were colored with Pecan Pie ink.  The Bird’s Eye was added using the retired Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • The greeting, Hello, was die-cut from a Very Vanilla cardstock scrap piece using the Hello die from the Circle of Season Dies set, another Paper Pumpkin Add-On product.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a variation of the sketch.  The Bird was popped up with Dimensionals.  Two Red Buttons from my retired collection of Stampin’ Up! Buttons were threaded with Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine and added with Mini Glue Dots.

A friendly little Hello card.
