Piet Mondrian – Big on Birthdays

Welcome back!  Happy Thursday…a clean and simple masculine birthday card for you today.

Simple stamping at its best – just stamps ink and paper!

The challenges: Little Red Wagon (#842) Keep it Simple; Krafty Chicks (#804) Masculine; Creative Colours (#224), with the primary palette inspiring the Piet Mondrian layout; and sharing with Creative Crafters (#96) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

BIG ON BIRTHDAYS – LRW842 – KCC804 – CCC224 – CC096

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Mondrian Blocks: Basic White, Pretty Peacock, Crushed Curry and Real Red cardstock scraps.
    • Sizes: Basic White – (1” x ¾”), (1¾” x ¾”), (1” x 2⅛”), (2¾” x 3”), and (1¼” x 3”); Pretty Peacock – (1” x ¾”); Crushed Curry – (¾” x ¾”); and Real Red – (1¼” x ¾”).
    • The sentiment, Wishing you a very happy birthday, from the retired Big on Birthday stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the larger Block.
    • Using Stampin’ Blends Markers, color was added to the sentiment.  Colors chosen: Light Pretty Peacock and Real Red along with Dark Daffodil Delight.

All Blocks were added to the card base. So clean, so simple.

I love the spare color blocking that defines the artist Piet Mondrian.  So well suited to masculine cards.

Thank you SO much for popping by ~ I hope you enjoyed your time here and I wish you a fantastic day!  Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask ~ I’d be happy to help you!!!

Cheers,  Jolanda!
