Grand Adventure – Birthday Card

Designing for: Cardz 4 Guyz (#382) with a theme entitled Epic Adventure this round and I am taking the Scenic Route…

Additional challenges that informed my choices: The Male Room (#206) to add a Tag; Make My Monday (#268) to use Patterned Paper; Addicted To Stamps & More (#208) for a Birthday Theme; and sharing with Crafter’s Café (#326) with a One for the Boys Twist.

Here is the result:

THE RIGHT WORDS – WEEKEND ADVENTURE – C4G382 – TMR206 – MMM268 – ATSM508 – CCCB326

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4¼” x 5½”) Cajun Craze Diagonal Stripe patterned piece of paper from the retired He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Crumb Cake Map patterned piece of paper from the retired World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Tag Frame Underlay: (3⅛” x 2⅝”) Crumb Cake Script patterned piece of paper, also from the World of Good paper pack.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from The Right Words stamp set and the sentiment, Taking the Scenic Route, from the Weekend Adventure stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • Tag Frame: (4¼” x 2¾”) Early Espresso / Cajun Craze Grid patterned piece of paper, also from the He’s the Man paper pack, die-cut with the Scalloped Edge Frame die from the retired Fabulous Frames Dies set.  The Frame was adhered to the Underlay.
  • Ephemera – Car: Chosen from the available pieces included in the He’s The Man paper pack.
  • Inside Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • Banner: (3½” x 1¼”) Basic Black cardstock scrap die-cut with the (3⅜” x 1”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Ephemera – Greeting: Also, from the He’s the Man paper pack, Hope your day is a grand adventure.

All elements were adhered to the card base front and inside.  The Car was popped up with Dimensionals.

A Route 66 adventure is high on my husband’s bucket list…
