Lovely Arrangements – Sending Smiles

Hi again!  Chasing a deadline…

The not to be forgotten color challenge over at Color Dare (#685) picking up on the Yellow, Green and Blue tones.

Choosing the Stampin’ Up! Only (#392) sketch to complete my card.

Here is the result:

LOVELY ARRANGEMENTS BUNDLE – CS685 – SUOC392

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using a Ruler and Pencil, the cut pattern was drawn on the backside of the Panel.
    • Using the Hobby Knife attachment for the Take Your Pick Tool, slits were cut into the Panel.
    • From the retired Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist ribbons were threaded through the slits to create the block pattern.
    • The Panel and Ribbon were dry-embossed with the Lovely Stripes 3D Embossing Folder, another On-Line Exclusive product, but the Stripes were slightly off kilter, so the Panel was then dry-embossed again with the All in a Row Embossing Folder.
  • Shape – Flower & Leaf: Basic White and Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap.
    • The Flower image from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with the Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The Flower was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Lovely Arrangements Dies set as was the Leaf.
  • Sentiment Banner: (4¼” x ⅞”) Balmy Blue cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Sending Smiles, also from the Lovely Arrangement stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and trimmed on the diagonal to match the Ribbon Line Blocks at (3½”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flower was popped up with Dimensionals and a few White retired Classic Matte Dots were added to the Sentiment Banner.

Clean and Simple with lovely texture for a friendly Hello card.
