Winter Birthday Wishes – Snowman Party

Hi again!  Time again for the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#546) Sketch.  The first one for the new year from the new Mini Catalog. The sketch can be found on page 17.

CASE: (Copy and Steal Everything) Making it the same; (Copy and Slightly Edit) Almost the same with a little variation; (Copy and Selectively Edit) Changing things.  You are welcome to choose how you create.

A complete mish-mash of stamp sets used to create my design for the following challenges: Inspired By (#369) Snowman Party; AAA Birthday (#81) Winter Birthday; Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#2601) choosing the twist – Winter Wishes for a Birthday card; #TGIF (#558) for the Colors; and adding hearts for Heart’s Quest (#81) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

JOLANDA JOHNSTONE – CT546 – IB369 – AAABCB81 – HQCOLCB2601 – TGIFC558 – HQCB81

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Winter Wishes, from the retired Christmas Labels stamp set was stamped with Smoky Slate ink separating the words so that the truncated sentiment, Birthday, from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, could be stamped in between with Highland Heather ink.
    • The Heart image from the retired Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set was added twice with Balmy Blue ink.
  • Side Panel: (1½” x 5¼”) Highland Heather Ombre Splotch patterned piece of paper from the 2025-2026 Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Accent Mat: (3” x 3”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (4” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Snowman image from the retired White Christmas stamp set was stamped three times, one in the reverse, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • Mini Snowman Masks were created by stamping onto a Post-It-Note and fussy-cutting with Paper Snips.
    • With the Masks in place, the Pine Tree image from the retired Wooded Acres stamp set was stamped with both Highland Heather and Smoky Slate inks.
    • The Masks were removed, and the Snowmen were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Snowmen highlights/shadows – Light Balmy Blue; Hats and Scarves – Dark Balmy Blue and Light and Dark Highland Heather; Noses – Light Pumpkin Pie; and Snow Shadows – Light Balmy Blue.
    • The Panel was trimmed to (2¾” x 2¾”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Focal Panel was popped up with Dimensionals.

Happy Birthday to me!  A definite Winter baby.  Let’s party!
