Nature Walk – Joy to my Heart

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#479), we have a sketch for you to try.

My design choice was influenced by Just Us Girls (#804) to use a Cover Plate Die and I selected the Leaf die from the retired Gorgeous Garden Dies set.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lost Lagoon cardstock.
• Support Mat: (4¼” x 5½”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
  • Leaf Overlay: (4” x 5¼”) Mottled Ombre (Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Old Olive) patterned piece of paper from the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the Leaf die.
  • The resultant die-cut was adhered to the Support Mat and trimmed to (3⅞” x 5⅛”).
• Horizontal Cross Strip: (3⅞” x 1½”) Vellum Specialty Paper, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Trim: Lost Lagoon cardstock scrap die-cut with the Dotted Strip die from the Nature’s Symphony Dies set and trimmed to (3” x ⅝”).
• Vertical Strip: (4¼” x 2”) Mossy Meadow cardstock die-cut with the Leaf die, also from the Nature’s Symphony Dies set.
• Sentiment Label: Lost Lagoon cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of you brings joy to my heart, from the recently retired Branching Out stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2¼” x ¾”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Textured Notes Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A few Cloud Cover and Old Olive Moody Palette Glossy Dots, another On-Line Exclusive product, where added to complete the card.

I think you might recall that green is my most favorite color and I love how these greens work together for the Leafy Thinking of You card.
