Weekend Adventures – Love This Place

Welcome back!  Happy Sunday.  Creativity abounds…with recycled materials.

I love receiving Vintage Holiday cards.  They are saved and when the right project comes along, I am willing to chop it up.  In this case the Winter Scene with Bird was the latest victim.

The challenges: Farm Quest Country Christmas (#27) Winter Cabin; Triple B (#2601) Bird; If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#212) Winter Cabin: Paper Craft Crew (#654) Winter Scene sharing with Critter Crazy (#106) Bird and Can You Handle The Pressure (#2512) Winter Blues.

Loosely based on the mirror image of the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#544) Sketch that I didn’t have to do over the holidays. The sketch can be found on page 25 of the September 2025 – December 2026 Mini Catalog.

CASE: (Copy and Steal Everything) Making it the same; (Copy and Slightly Edit) Almost the same with a little variation; (Copy and Selectively Edit) Changing things.  You are welcome to choose how you create.

Here is the result:

WEEKEND ADVENTURES – LASTING LINEN – FQCCCB27 – TBC2601 – CC212 – PCC654 – 2CCCB106 – CYHTP2512 – CT544

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 2⅝”) Lost Lagoon Two-Tone cardstock (light side) dry-embossed with the Beautiful Patterns 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • Using a Sanding Block, the Panel was sanded to highlight the white core pattern.
  • Ribbon: (4”) Basic Beige Bordered Ribbon (now retired) trimmed on the diagonal.
  • Accent Frame: (3” x 4½”) Lost Lagoon cardstock die-cut with the (2¾” x 4¼”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Textured Notes Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Focal Panel – Vintage Holiday Card trimmed to (2⅜” x 3⅞”).
    • Before trimming, the Panel was over stamped with the Lasting Linen Background stamp using Basic Beige ink to add texture.
  • Shape – Pinecones & Branches: Pecan Pie and Early Espresso cardstock scraps die-cut with the Branch and Pinecone dies from the Branching Out Dies set, from the Fall Mini and still available.
  • Sentiment Label: Basic Beige cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, love this place, from the Weekend Adventures stamp set was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink and trimmed to (2¼” x ½”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a variation of the sketch.

Getting away to the cabin for a weekend away…so pretty in the winter.

  1. It’s a gorgeous card. This year I made 24 gift card/money holders all from store bought cards, they turned out really cute, a great way to recycle! Thanks so much for joining our challenge at Can You Handle The Pressure.
