A Touch of Ink – Best Wishes

Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#660).  A great sketch with lots of possibilities.

My design was influenced by Triple B (#1225) Blossoms, Butterflies and/or Birds with a Black & White Twist.

I am sharing this card with Ellibelle’s Garden Party (#10) and Stampin’ Up! Only (#391) Designer’s Choice because even though most of the materials are retired, I love creating with Black & White.

Here is the result:

A TOUCH OF INK – AHSC660 – TBC1225 – EGP010 – SUOC391

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Card Front: (5½” x 4¼”) Black and White Dotted patterned piece of paper from the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Background Panel: (4¾” x 3½”) White and Black Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired Beautifully Penned Series Paper pack.
  • Accent Mat: (2½” x 2½”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Square: (2½” x 2½”) White and Black Dotted patterned piece of paper, also from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack and die-cut with the (2⅜” x 2⅜”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • The sentiment, Best Wishes, from the retired A Touch of Ink stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • Decoration – Butterfly: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
    • The Butterfly image, also from A Touch of Ink stamp set, was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  I off set the Square to show more of the Floral patterned paper and popped up the Butterfly with Dimensionals. A few retired Basic Black Classic Matte Dots were added to the Flower centers, completing the card.

A classic black and white Best Wishes card featuring beautiful garden elements – Butterflies and Flowers.

I am looking forward to seeing how you use this week’s sketch.
