Winter Whisper – Thinking of You

Welcome back!  Happy Thanksgiving.  Did you watch the Parade?  I cannot believe that Christmas is less than a month away.

Now that the Parade is finished, I took the opportunity to dive back into the Studio. My happy place! 

The challenges: Paper Players (#765) for the Sketch; Inspire Create (#206) for the Monochromatic Color scheme; and Love Those Pretty Papers (#17) for the Theme Twist – Forest Critters.

Here is the result:  

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Gray cardstock.
• Split Panels – Card Front: (3¾” x 6”) Watercolored Deer patterned piece of paper from the retired Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack cut at (2¼”), (3¾” for 1½”) and (4¾” for 1″).
• Sentiment Label: (3¾” x 1¼”) top edge of the same patterned paper cut above.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of you at Christmas, from the retired Embellished Ornaments stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with retired Pewter Embossing Powder and die-cut with the (2¼” x 1”) Arched die from the Everyday Arches Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch, and the Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals. 

Such a beautiful piece of paper with the lovely monochrome watercolor whisper of the Deer in the forest.  I just couldn’t cut it smaller. A great holiday card.  With this 12” x 12” sheet, you can have six cards made in a jiff!
