Charming Day – Celebrate

Welcome back!  Friday, and I am wondering where the week went…

A few challenges mashed up for a pretty birthday card.

The Flower Challenge (#107) adding some purple; AAA Birthday (#78) adding an ombre effect; Moving Along with the Times (#182) to highlight the sentiment; and sharing with Ellibelle’s Garden Party (#8) as flowers surely can be found in the garden.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Soft Sea Foam cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
• Card Front Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Rectangle Grid image from the Lovely Florals stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped three times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Using Blending Brushes, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss inks were added for an Ombre effect.
  • The Panel was then trimmed to (3¾” x 4¼”).
• Decoration: (3” x 3¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Floral image from the Charming Day stamp set, also an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Blooms – Light Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather; Leaves – Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam.
  • The Floral image was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Charming Day Dies set.
• Sentiment: (4” x 1¼”) Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
  • The sentiment, celebrate, was die-cut with the word die from the retired Celebrate You Thinlits Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base, and the Flower image was popped up with Dimensionals.

I like the purple tones combined with the light green.  A very nice birthday card for a special friend.
