Fall In The Meadow – Thinking of You.

Design Team Time: This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#378), the theme is Autumn / Fall.

My design choices were influenced by: Inspired By (#353) Leaves; Inkspirational (#350) Word: Trees; Inspiration Station (#77) Autumn Inspiration Photo for the colors as well as the theme and sharing with Time Out (#297) as my favorite Season is Fall

Here is the result:

IN THE MEADOW – BEAUTIFUL MOTIFS – C4G378 – IB353 – IC350 – ISC77 – TOC297

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Card Front Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Tree image, from the retired In The Meadow stamp set was stamped multiple times with Pecan Pie ink.
    • The bottom section of the stamp was inked and used as an In-Fill for additional Grass.
    • Using Sponge Daubers, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Timid Tiger inks were added to the Trees and the Grassy Area.
    • Additionally, a light coloring of Old Olive ink was added with a Blending Brush to tone down the brightness between the Trees.
  • Sentiment Arc: (5½” x 1¾”) Old Olive cardstock die-cut with the Stitched Curved die from the retired Basic Borders Dies set and trimmed to (4¾” x 1⅜”).
    • The sentiment, Thinking of You, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set, a photopolymer stamp, was curved to fit the arc and stamped with Versamark ink and then heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Decoration – Leaves: Very Vanilla cardstock scrap strip.
    • Using Blending Brushes, the strip was colored with Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Timid Tiger and Cajun Craze inks and then die-cut with the Leaf die from the Happy Hibiscus Dies set, still available but on the Last Chance List.

All elements were adhered to the card base.  The Leaves were arranged with the Cajun Craze Leaf popped up with Dimensionals. A few Very Vanilla Neutral Matte Dots, and On-Line Exclusive product, were added to complete the card.

 A very nice card for a fellow…

  2. The layering of autumn tones and textures in this card is absolutely stunning. I love how the curved sentiment adds movement and elegance, and the dimensional leaf detail brings everything to life. A perfect tribute to the season and a thoughtful design for a masculine card.
