Waterfront – Birthday

Hi again!  Getting a little more “inque-y” time in today.

Over at Facebook’s Global Design Project (#512), we are tasked to CASE a card created by Stesha Bloodhart.

Mountains, distress, twine…

I added a water element for Shopping Our Stash (#555).

Here is my version:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Wood Textured Specialty Paper.
  • Misty Moonlight ink was added with a Blending Brush and then the Panel was brushed quickly with water using the Wide -Tipped Water Painter brush for a softer color and to bring out the texture of the paper.
  • Once dry, the sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.
• Accent Mat: (4⅞” x 2½”) Crumb Cake cardstock distressed on two corners.
• Focal Panel: (4¾” x 2⅜”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Using the scene builder elements of the retired Waterfront stamp set, the scene was created.  Elements and Ink colors: Mountains – Gray Granite; Water – Misty Moonlight, Land – Crumb Cake, Trees – Mossy Meadow.
  • A few Birds were added with Basic Gray ink, and they are from the retired Friendly Seagulls stamp set.
  • The corners were also distressed.

All elements were then adhered to the card base taking inspiration from Stesha’s card.  A double twist of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine was added, keeping the overall look masculine.

A nice birthday card for a fellow.
