Thankful Garden

Welcome back! Design Team Time for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#644)

I selected the Color Dare (#665) palette for this card and am sharing with Addicted to Stamps & More (#500) selecting to use both stencils and dies.

Here is the result:

THANKFUL GARDEN DECRATIVE MASKS & DIES – AHSC644 – CD665 – ATSM500

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Mat: (2⅞” x 4⅛”) Flirty Flamingo cardstock
  • Focal Panel: (2¾” x 4″) Basic White cardstock.
  • Vertical Strip: Torn Vellum
    • Starting with a (5” x 3¾”) piece of Vellum, both Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends Marker colors were scribbled on to the piece.
    • A Stampin’ Spritzer filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, was used to spray the colored Vellum. The colors were allowed to blend.  Once dry, the resultant blending was spritzed again for the droplet effect.
    • The Vellum was then torn. A (1″) attractive piece was then folded around the Focal Panel.
  • Focal Image – Flower: (3¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using the Thankful Garden Decorative Masks, an On-Line Exclusive product, and Blending Brushes, Flirty Flamingo and Pretty Peacock inks were used to create the Flower.
    • The Flower was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Thankful Garden Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Sentiment: Basic White and Pretty peacock cardstock scraps.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Pretty Peacock ink was added to the Basic White cardstock piece to match the coloring of the Floral Leaves.
    • Both colored Basic White and Pretty Peacock cardstock pieces were die-cut with the word: thanks, from the Thanks & Beyond Dies set, a Paper Pumpkin Exclusive Add-On product.
    • The two pieces were adhered together for a shadow effect.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals and a few Shades of Green Hexagons were added for a bit of bling.

A soft and pretty thank you card created with a few simple techniques.

Looking forward to seeing how you use this week’s sketch.
