For The Books – Cozy Fall

Welcome back!  A brand-new week and Monday’s creation…

Playing with the Just Add Ink (#762) Inspiration Photo and tying into Colorful Options (August) and their suggested Fall coloring.

Additional influences: Time Out (#294) Pick Two – choosing Torn and Book and adding an Orange Heart for Heart’s Quest (#76) theme.

I selected a sketch from Pinterest to complete my design.

Here is the result:

FOR THE BOOKS – JAI762 – COC August 2025 – TOC294 – HQCB76

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Early Espresso cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Calypso Coral, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso Plaid patterned piece of paper from the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Vertical Cross Strip (1): (1¾” x 5¼”) Dark Wood patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack hand torn.
  • Vertical Cross Strip (2): (½” x 5¼”) Crumb Cake Textile patterned piece of paper from the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper pack, another On-Line Exclusive product, hand torn
  • Accent Mats: (2” x 2”) Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze cardstock scraps die-cut with the slightly smaller than (2”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Squares: (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Linen Textile patterned pieces of paper, also from the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The Book Stack image, the Double Book image, the Heart image and the Sentiment, this one’s for the books, from the retired For The Books stamp set were stamped with Early Espresso ink.
    • The sentiment was stamped again over top with Versamark ink and heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder.
    • The Books and the Heart were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Calypso Coral, Light and Dark Cajun Craze, Bronze and SU100.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the chosen sketch.  The Sentiment Block was popped up with Dimensionals and three Adhesive Backed Textured Dots, another On-Line Exclusive product, were added to finish up the card.

A cozy fall inspired all occasion card, especially with school starting back today in my neck of the woods.

  3. You are the Queen of Creative Theme Bundling!!!! Awesome!!! I love how you’ve combined a wonderful color palette, sketch, torn paper technique, books theme plus HQCB’s red and/or orange heart with AG theme!!! Your card looks fantastic! It also gives me back to school time vibes and even leans a bit masculine. Simply fantastic! Thanks for sharing at HQCB #76! — Becca
