Welcome back! Monday – a fresh start to the week.
It’s still incredibly hot and I was drawn to several challenges featuring a water theme. Addicted to CAS (#285); Inspire Create (#195) and TGIF (#530).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- (1) Watercolor Technique: (3” x 3”) Watercolor Paper piece from my scrap bin.
- A drop of Azure Afternoon Classic Stampin’ Ink™ Refill was added to a Clear Stamp Block.
- Using a Pipette (Craft Stash) and Water, a few drops of water were added to the Watercolor Paper.
- Using a Fine-Tipped Craft Paint Brush (Craft Stash), a bit of ink was picked up and added to the water drops and left to sit.
- After a little bit of time, I rolled the edge of a tissue and lifted the water from the paper leaving a colored water spot. I then dried the paper with the Heat Tool and began the process again with a few more water drops.
- Finally, I added two more drops, colored them and left them to sit overnight to achieve the deeper tone of color.
- (2) Creating the Card
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Azure Afternoon cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Watercolor Paper.
- Accent Mat: (1½” x 3½”) Azure Afternoon cardstock scrap die-cut with the (1¼” x 3¼”) Rectangle die from the retired Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies set.
- The sentiments, Hey and You Made My Day, from the Charming Day stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product that will be available on July 1st, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
- Focal image – Water Drops: The water-colored piece that was created overnight was die-cut with the (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
All elements were adhered to the card base with the Focal Image popped up with Dimensionals.
A very fresh, clean and simple card featuring beautiful jewel toned blue water droplets.
