Let’s Set Sail – Summer Boating

Welcome back!  Happy Sunday.  Time for a little creative expression by escaping to the Studio on this very hot day.

Order of the day – clean and simple for CAS on Friday (#311) with a Summer theme; Retro Rubber (#257) featuring older stamps with their Tic Tac Toe Board choices – right side: Stencil / Coloring / Die Cut(s); and sharing with Addicted to Stamps & More (#495) and their Die Cuts and / or Stencils request.

Here is the result:

RAYS OF LIGHT – LET’S SET SAIL – COS311 – RRCB257 – ATSM495

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Secret Sea cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using one of the Stencils from the retired Foursquare Decorative Masks set and a Sponge Dauber, the Four Nautical Crosses were added to the right side with Secret Sea ink.
    • Additionally, the truncated sentiment, set Sail, from the retired Let’s Set Sail stamp set (circa 2022) was also stamped with Secret Sea ink.
  • Scenic Panel: (3½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock and (3½” x 2”) Pool Party Two-Tone cardstock.
    • The retired Rays of Light background stamp (circa 2022) was inked with Daffodil Delight ink and the Basic White cardstock piece was pressed onto it.
    • The Two-Tone Pool Party cardstock was dry-embossed with the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product that includes both the embossing folder and a set of coordinating dies.
      • The white-core of the Two-Tone cardstock was enhanced with a Sanding Block and then hand-torn across the top edge.
    • The two pieces were adhered together and die-cut with the (2¼” x 3½”) Rectangle die from the retired Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies set.
  • Decoration – Sailboat: Secret Sea and Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • Using the small Sailboat and Sails dies, from the coordinating Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder Dies set, the boat pieces were die-cut.
    • The Secret Sea Boat Hull and Sail piece was tucked into the water.
    • Using Sponge Daubers, the Daffodil Delight and Pool Party inks, the Basic White Sail Edges were colored and then the Sails were added to the Hull piece with Mini Dimensionals.

A fresh clean and simple card suitable for a variety of occasions. A Sailing Breeze would be most welcome today…
