Just a Note – You’re on my Mind

Design Time for The Card Concept (#218) and we have a Neutral Naturals Décor themed inspiration photo this month.  I picked up on the Shelving, Vases and Colors.

I opted for a clean and layered styling for this card.

Additional influence: Inspire By (#339) for the Sketch and a nod to the colors.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Weathered Wood patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
• Blocks: (5” x 2½”) Misty Moonlight Weathered Wood patterned piece of paper, also from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the (2⅛” x 1½”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Nested Essentials Dies set.
  • The sentiment, Just a note to let you know you’re on my mind, from the Mixed Labels stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Decoration – Vases: Pecan Pie Two-Tone cardstock and Night of Navy cardstock scraps.
  • The Large Vase image from the retired Earthen Textures stamp set was stamped onto the light side with Crumb Cake ink and then die-cut with the coordinating die from the retired Earthen Textures Dies set.
  • The Short Vase image was also stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto the dark side and then die-cut with the coordinating die along with the Jug Handles die.
  • The Straw Fronds were also die-cut.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Short Vase & Straw Fronds was assembled and popped up with Dimensionals and a few Very Vanilla retired Classic Matte Dots were added for interest.
