Friend – You Are Remarkable

Welcome back!  Welcome to the weekend…

I am playing with Facebook’s Global Design Project (#496), to CASE (copy and selectively edit) a card created by Krista Frattin with the Creative Colour (#193) Palette.

I chose to keep the design simple as I selected to create a Fun Fold card for both the Make My Monday (#251) and Creative Creases (#103).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 2⅛” and 6⅜”) Smoky Slate cardstock for a Gate Fold.
• Accent Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
• Accent Panel: (3⅜” x 4⅞”) Pretty in Pink Speckled patterned piece of paper from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper pack. Still available but on the Last Chance List.  The top left corner was distressed.
• Background Panel: (3⅜” x 4⅝”) Yellow Dotted / Diagonal Striped patterned piece of paper from the Floral Design Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product.  The top left corner was also distressed.
• Side Sentiment Panel: (3” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2⅝” x 3⅞”) Stitched Arch die from the Everyday Arches Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive Product.  The right-side edge was die-cut at (2″) with the larger Arch die for a coordinated stitched look.
  • The sentiment, Friends are flowers in the garden of life, from the You Are Remarkable stamp set, another On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Smoky Slate ink.
• Decoration – Flowers: The Daisy Laser-Cut from the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack was selected and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Petals – Light and Dark Pretty in Pink, Floral Centers – Light and Dark Lemon Lolly, and Greenery – Light Smoky Slate.
  • The Ephemera Flower was fussy-cut with Paper Snips for a closer finish.
•  Left Inside / Middle Inside: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the Kristin’s sketch. 

A pretty friendship card with lots of room for correspondence.
