Spring Tulips for Mother’s Day

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#462), we have a pretty floral Inspiration Board, and I opted for the Tulips.

I was influenced by the Double Trouble (#190) 3-2-1 Recipe: Three Layers (I have 5); Two Colors (Purple Pink and Green); and One Patterned Background Paper (Purple Pink Bokeh) with the Floral Twist and sharing with Beautiful Blossoms (#28).

I selected the Inspire Create (#191) Sketch and am also sharing this card with Crafter’s Café (#318) and their Feminine theme.

Here is the result:

WONDERFUL MOTHER – BLESSED EASTER – HSSIC462 – DT190 – BBC028 – ICC191 – CCCB318

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty in Pink cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¾” x 3½”) Berry Burst Bokeh Dots patterned piece of paper from the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The sentiment, Happy Mother’s Day!, from the retired Wonderful Mother stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Cross Strips: (4¾” x ⅜”) and (⅜” x 3½”) Speckled Pretty in Pink patterned pieces of paper from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper pack, still available but on the Last Chance List.
  • Decorative Fronds – Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap die-cut with the Leaf die from the newly retired Memorable Blooms Dies set.
  • Circle Accent Mat: (2¾” x 2¾”) Pretty in Pink cardstock die-cut with the (2½”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Image – Tulips: (2½” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Tulip image from the retired Blessed Easter stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Tulips – Light and Dark Pretty in Pink and Light Berry Burst; Leaves – Light and Dark Granny Apple Green; and Shadows – retired Light Soft Sky.
    • The Tulips were punched out with the retired (2¼”) Circle Punch.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Tulips were popped up with Dimensionals and a few newly retired Pretty in Pink 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added for a bit of sparkle.

A very pretty feminine floral card for a special woman.
