Happy Hibiscus – It’s Your Day

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday!  Hoping you found some time to be creative today.

Playing with the Facebook Global Design Project (#493) Colors and the Atlantic Hearts (#626) Sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Gray cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Gray Weathered Wood patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
• Torn Strip (1): (4” x 1”) Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock – Light Side.
• Torn Strip (2): (3½” x 1”) Black / White / Gray Leafy patterned piece of paper from the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • The Leaves were colored with the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Marker.
• Focal Image – Flowers: (4¼” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Triple Floral image from the Happy Hibiscus stamp set, also an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Dark Bubble Bath and Light Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends Markers.  The Flowers were then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Banner: Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, It’s your day, from the Penciled Pear stamp set, still available but on the Last Chance List, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2⅝” x ⅝”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set, double cut to shorten the length to (2¼”).
• Three White retired Classic Matte Dots were colored with the Light Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends Marker. 

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Some Flower Petals were curled, and the small Blossom was popped up with Dimensionals.

Bright spots of pink against a country fence makes for a nice contrast.  A pretty little birthday card.
