Lots of Happy

Welcome back! A late start.  We had a great class this afternoon and now I have a bit of time to create for me…

Today’s challenges: Paper Players (#734), Elizabeth is looking for a clean and simple card featuring a Bunny and I chose the Sunday Stamps (#358) Sketch with the Color Dare (#647) Palette along with Heart’s Quest (#72), who is looking for Orange and / or Green Hearts.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Right Corner: (4” x 1½”) Fine Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper pack cut on the diagonal.
• Fold Over Flap: Calypso Coral Watercolor Wash patterned piece of paper – the reverse side of the previously diagonally cut piece above.
  • Using the retired Owl Builder Punch, I punched out a little Heart in the corner.
• Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Parakeet Party Watercolor Wash patterned piece of paper from the same Designer Series Paper pack, also cut on the diagonal at (1½”) along the top.
  • The sentiment, Sending you lots + lots of happy, from the retired Lots of Happy Card Kit was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Accent Circle Mat: (2” x 2”) retired Parakeet Party cardstock scrap, from my bin, die-cut with the (1¾”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Focal Image – Bunny: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Bunny image from the retired Fable Friends stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Bunny – Light Smoky Slate; Bunny Ears and Nose – Dark Petal Pink; and Sweater – Light and Dark Calypso Coral.
  • The Bunny’s Ears were fussy-cut with Paper Snips and the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die, also from the Stylish Shapes Dies set, was slipped behind the Ears and then die-cut.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch, and the Bunny was popped up with Dimensionals.  The punched Heart was added to the card front resulting in both a green and an orange heart on the card.

A sweet Spring friendship card.
