Wild About You

Design Time for The Card Concept (#216) and we have a Safari Jungle themed inspiration photo this month.

I opted for a clean and layered styling for this card incorporating a number of retired stamp sets and coordinating dies in my stash.

I am sharing this card with Park Hopping (April) for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park – Kilimanjaro Safari and Love to Craft (#85) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Pool Party Watercolor Ombre patterned piece of paper from the retired Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sentiment, Wild about you, from the retired Animal Outing stamp set was stamped with Balmy Blue ink.
• Giraffe: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Giraffe image, also from the Animal Outing stamp set, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The Giraffe was colored with Crumb Cake ink applied with a Blending Brush.  The Spots and other details were colored with the Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend Marker and then the Giraffe was die-cut with the coordinating die from the retired Animal Friends Thinlits Dies set.
• Jungle Foliage (Main): (4” x 5¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock die-cut with the Corner Foliage die from the retired Tranquil Dies set.
• Jungle Foliage Accents: Lemon Lime Twist cardstock scraps.
  • The two Tropical Leaf images from the retired Tranquil Thoughts stamp set were stamped with Granny Apple Green ink and die-cut with the coordinating dies, also from the Tranquil Dies set.
• Jungle Floral: Petal Pink cardstock scrap.
  • The Floral image, again from the Tranquil Thoughts stamp set, was stamped with Pretty in Pink ink and die-cut with the coordinating die.

All elements were adhered to the card base to reflect the essence of the inspiration photo for a fun “love” card, perfect for an anniversary.
