Thoughtful Wishes – Rainy Days

Welcome back!  Monday and the start of a brand-new week.

Today I created a card for Inspired By (#330).  What a great image – vibrant colors and reflections.

Here is the result:

THOUGHTFUL WISHES – PLAYING IN THE RAIN – GORGEOUS GRUNGE – IB330

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  The light textured striping is reminiscent of light rain.
  • Accent Mat: (2½” x 3⅝”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (2¾” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock trimmed to (2⅜” x 3½”) when complete.
    • The Floral image from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to the Silicone Craft Sheet and then pressed on to the cardstock for a reverse image (reflection).
    • Using the retired Stamp-a-ma-jig Positioning Tool, the Floral image was stamped again for the main image.
    • I added a little grounding to the Flowers with my Black Fine-Tipped Liquid Gel Pen.
    • Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig again, I added “rain” by using the Fine-Lines image from the retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Smoky Slate ink in two directions. Vertical for the top main image and horizontal for the reflection image.
    • The Flowers were colored with the retired Medium Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker and the Light Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends Marker.
    • The background was colored with the retired Light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker.
    • A liberal application of Wink of Stella Glitter was added to make the “rain” sparkle.  Hard to see in the photo, but really effective.
  • Sentiment Label: (2” x ¾”) Pool Party cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Rainy days are better with you, from the Playing in the Rain stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • Again, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, the sentiment was stamped again slightly off-set with retired Bermuda Bay ink for a shadow effect.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch, and the Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.

A nice Spring friendship card…
