Hi again! Another deadline…
Over at Color Dare (#643), we are asked to use only the colors Blue and Purple and the Sketch Saturday (#772) layout, a retro sketch from the archives, made me think of the Tune In stamp set with the Retro Television, which would be ideal for the Window twist.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Blueberry Bushel cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Azure Afternoon Watercolor Ombre patterned piece of paper from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack.
- The Quasar image was stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink and the sentiment, News Flash, was stamped into Versamark ink and then Gorgeous Grape ink and then heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder using the Clear Color Embossing Technique.
- Window Block – Television: (3½” x 3”) Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
- The Television image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with the coordinating dies from the Tune In Dies set.
- Window – Television Screen: (2½” x 2”) Azure Afternoon Star patterned piece of paper, also from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack.
- Using the same Clear Color Embossing Technique, the sentiment, You’re Classic, was stamped into Versamark ink and then into Blueberry Bushel ink and heat set with Clear Embossing Powder. For more definition, the sentiment was stamped again, over and off-set, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink for a shadow effect.
- Decoration – Antennae, Speaker and Knob: Highland Heather cardstock scraps.
- The Antennae image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with the coordinating die. The other bits were also die-cut.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Antannae and Television were popped up with Dimensionals.
A fun card, suitably masculine in colors and design but great for anyone you need to remind that they are important to you.
Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!

Well, this certainly takes me back, growing up with this kind of TV. In fact, my Mom & my Aunt had one of these TV’s for as long as they could – not buying a flat TV until they simply had no other choice. lol Love your fabulous, retro card. Thank you for sharing at Color Dare.
