Beautiful Butterflies – Thank You

Welcome back!  I must get ready for this afternoon’s class, but I am popping in with a card for a couple of challenges.

Creative Colour (#185) has an unusual combination: Lemon Lime Twist, Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie.  I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. The Atlantic Hearts (#621) sketch has a cascade design that could work.

I snapped a photo of a very pretty Butterfly card that was up on the swap boards at the OnStage Convention last week…perhaps I could CASE (copy and selectively edit) the idea.  I do not know who made it.  If it was you, and you see this…I will edit the post to add your name.

Here is my version:

CHANGING LEAVES – BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES DIES – CCC185 – AHSC621

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Lemon Lime Twist Floral patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2025 Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Cascade Elements – Butterflies:  Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie cardstock scraps.
    • The smaller Butterfly and Body dies from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product, were die-cut and adhered together.
  • Sentiment Label: Lemon Lime cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thank you, from the Changing Leaves stamp set (still available but on the Last Chance List) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Sentiment was then die-cut with the small Label die, also from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Butterflies arranged in a cascade.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added for a bit of bling.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Those colors said Halloween to me so I challenged myself to make a non-Halloween card, and I ended up with butterflies too! Love your cascade of butterflies, very pretty.
