Time For a Card-Again – Happy Birthday

Design Team Time: This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#367), the theme is Men’s Clothing and for Hand Stamped Sentiments (#458), we have a great sketch.  This week, I chose to combine them.

Additionally, AAA Birthday Cards (#71), Can You Handle The Pressure (#74) and Krafty Chicks (#757) are all looking for masculine cards.  So, a guy card with texture and a birthday sentiment.  I can do that!

Here is the result:

FOREVER FRIENDS – C4G637 – HSSSC458 – AAABCB71 – CYHTP74 – KCC757

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Early Espresso cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Beige cardstock dry-embossed with the Argyle Diamond patterned folder from the retired Fun Patterns Embossing Folders set.
  • Ribbon Element: (15”) retired Faux Leather Trim.
  • Banner: (3¾” x 1¾”) Early Espresso cardstock punched with the retired Triple Banner Punch and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Block: (2¼” x 2¾”) Copper Clay cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Time for a card-again, from the retired Forever Friends stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Block was then dry-embossed with the retired Textured Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Focal Image – Sweater: (2¼” x 2¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
    • The Cardigan image from the same stamp set, Forever Friends, was stamped with Copper Clay ink and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Circle: Early Espresso cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, also from the Forever Friends stamp set, was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and die-cut with the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shaped Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Banner and Block element was popped up with Dimensionals over the Faux Leather Trim and the Cardigan was added with more Dimensionals.

A cozy guy’s birthday card.
