Lily Pond Lane – My Kind of People

Welcome back!  Happy Sunday…a perfect day for crafting.

Today, I have taken on the Stampin’ Up Only! (#370) challenge to case a card found on page 42 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

My design choices were influenced by Festive Friday (#178) and Double Trouble (#185) who is partnering with Beautiful Blossoms (#26).

Here is the result:

LILY POND LANE DSP – HANGING GARDEN – SUOC370 – FF0178 – DT185 – BBC026

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty in Pink cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Pretty in Pink and White Gingham patterned piece of paper from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Vertical Cross Strip: (2½” x 5⅛”) Pretty in Pink Speckled patterned piece of paper, also from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The sentiment, Kind people are my kind of people, from the retired Hanging Garden stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Central Shape – Circle: (3¼” x 6”) Floral patterned piece of paper, also from the same paper pack.
    • A section of the Floral paper was die-cut with the (3”) Stitched circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • Three other Flowers from the paper were fussy-cut with Paper Snips for added decoration.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The fussy-cut Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals and three Peach Pie 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added to the central Daisies and a small Bow was tied with the Pretty in Pink 2024/2026 In-Color Ribbon.

Pink is not “my” color, but I really like how this card turned out.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  2. Love that your used the patterned paper for your background and added the fussy-cut florals from the same paper for dimension… I’m a fan of that because it is so complementary to each other. Beautiful card and thanks for sharing your enhanced 3-2-1 recipe with us at Double Trouble and Beautiful Blossoms.
