Blossoms & Wings – Hello

Welcome back!  Already Wednesday…time just goes on by.

I have combined several challenges today.  Inspiration Station (#70) with such a lovely photo including blossoms & wings; Double Trouble (#184) 3-2-1 Recipe including patterned papers, shapes, an image/sentiment and an option to include a heart; Shopping Our Stash (#540) to use bits and pieces found on your crafting desk; and Time Out (#281) to pick two – so I chose layer and heart.  Bringing it all together with the Try A Sketch On Tuesday (#663) layout.

Here is the result:

AWESOMELY ARTISTIC – HILLS OF TUSCANY – ISC70 – DT184 – SOS540 – TOC281 – TSOT663

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Fresh Freesia cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder. Set aside when I chose another color for a previous project.
  • Cross Strips: (3⅞” x ½”) left over edges from the retired Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper pack (Fresh Freesia and Pool Party) and the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack (Black & White)
  • Shape Mat – Circle: (3½” x 3½”) Pool Party cardstock die-cut with (3¼”) Circle die from the retired Circles Collection Framelits Dies set.
  • Shape – Circle: Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.  I often cut out a shape from an Accent Mat to stretch my supplies and reduce bulk when creating layers as it is not seen in the final project.
    • Taking inspiration from the photo, I selected the retired Awesomely Artistic stamp set and stamped the Floral image onto the die-cut Circle and stamped the Dragonfly image onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I also stamped the sentiment, Hello, from the retired Hills of Tuscany stamp set, also with Memento Black ink, onto the die-cut Circle.
    • The Floral image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Flowers – Light Fresh Freesia and Leaves – Light and Dark Pool Party.
  • Small Shape – Dragonfly: The Dragonfly image was also colored with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Marker and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Dragonfly was popped up with Dimensionals and I snuck in a little Petunia Pop cardstock Heart that was on my desk when I used the retired Owl Builder Punch for another previous project.

Isn’t it fun when a bunch of ideas collide, and you can create a really nice card.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
