To A Classic – Guy Greetings

Welcome back! 

Time again for Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#497), where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 33 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.  

Stripping it down and keeping it clean and simple for a masculine card.

My design choice influences: Inspired By (#320) for the Boy’s Room including texture and colors along with the Automobile motif and Time Out (#280) for their “enjoyed activity” theme for January and I chose watching the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auctions from Scottsdale, Arizona.  So many wonderful cars to see.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Misty Moonlight Wood Paneling patterned piece of paper from the retired Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper pack.
• Focal Panel: (4” x 3”) Crumb Cake Fabric patterned piece of paper from the same Paper pack.
  • The Classic Car image from the retired Guy Greetings stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.
• Cross Strip: (4¾” x ¾”) Wild Wheat/Mossy Meadow Plaid patterned piece of paper, also from the same Paper pack.
• Sentiment Label: (2¾” x ½”) Misty Moonlight cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, To A Classic, also from the Guy Greetings stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the simplified sketch and the Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.

A favorite stamp set dug out for this simple guy card.  Just Stamps, Ink and Paper.
