Winter Fun – Valentine

Welcome back! The Season of Love is nye…

Today, I am inspired by the card created by Emma Goddard for the Facebook Global Design Project (#480) CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit).

My takeaways: Small White Embossed Background, Centre Image/Sentiment and Ribbon detail.

My choices were influenced by Retro Rubber (#246) for a Winter Fun theme and Color Dare (#634) for the Palette.

Here is the result:

SPIRITED SNOWMEN – SNOW IS GLISTENING – GDP480 – RRCB246 – CD634

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Fresh Freesia cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
    • The three Snowflake images from the retired Snow is Glistening stamp set (circa 2018) were mounted to a single block and stamped randomly with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Balmy Blue ink was applied to the Panel.
    • Using a Craft Toothbrush, water was splattered across the Panel and the excess water was dabbed up with a paper towel and allowed to dry.
    • Once dry, the Snowflakes were polished with another paper towel.
  • Focal Image Panel: (2½” x 3½”) Basic White Thick cardstock that had the corners rounded with the retired Corner Rounder Punch.
    • The Snow Couple image and sentiment, love never melts, from the retired Spirited Snowmen stamp set (circa 2018) were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Hats and Arms – Light Pebbled Path; Scarves and Hat Decorations – Light and Dark Balmy Blue; Heart – Dark Bubble Bath; Ladies Bow, Hat Decoration and Scarf Fringe – a mix Light Pretty in Pink and Light Fresh Freesia; Snowmen and Snow Shadows – retired Medium Soft Sky.
    • Using a Sponge Dauber, the edges of the Panel were highlighted with Fresh Freesia ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A length of retired Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon was added under the Focal Image Panel that was popped up with Dimensionals.

A sweet winter valentine and/or anniversary card.
