Happy Hibiscus – Thanks

Welcome back!  A quick little card for you today…

Playing with the Just Us Girls (#758) Mood Board and choosing the colors: Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate, Pebbled Path and Crushed Curry for the Red, Light Gray, Darker Gray and Dark Cream colors and moving away from the winter theme (as it is too darn cold here today and I wanted to think warm) incorporating the Can You Handle The Pressure (#71) 3D Embossing Folder twist.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pebbled Path cardstock.
• Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock dry-embossed with the Happy Hibiscus 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush, the high relief of the Hibiscus Flowers were water-colored with Poppy Parade and Crushed Curry inks.  The Stamens were highlighted with a Black Fine-Tip Permanent Marker.
  • Using a Blending Brush, Smoky Slate ink was added to highlight some of the other Floral elements.
• Decoration: Die-Cut Flowers: Basic White cardstock scrap strip die-cut with the two sizes of Flower dies from the Happy Hibiscus Dies set.
  • The Flowers were adhered to the Card Front and small Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the centers.
• Sentiment Mat: Pebbled Path cardstock scrap die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Sentiment: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the (1¾”) Stitched Circle die, also from the Happy Hibiscus Dies set.
  • The sentiment, Thanks for being so kind, from the Happy Hibiscus stamp set was stamped with Pebbled Path ink and adhered in place.

Lots of texture and a pretty floral water-colored thank you card was created.
