Stylized Florals – Celebrate

Welcome back!  Wednesday already and I hope the week has been good to you so far…

It is moody and rainy here this morning , so I just had to find some time to play as creating cheers me up.

What trouble can we get up to today?  Let’s start with the AAA Cards (#280) clean and simple layout and add some elements from Festive Friday (#174).  I chose Pink, Silver and Shimmery Jewels.

For both Beautiful Blossoms (#23) and The Flower Challenge (#98) I picked a modern stylized Floral image adding some sparkle and the muted mood board suggested by Inkspirational (#330) thinking that my Floral elements could double as ornaments.

Here is the result:

WANTED TO SAY DIES – COUNTRY LACE DSP – AAACC280 – FF0174 – BBC023 – TFC98 – IC330

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Soft Pink toned Floral patterned paper from the now retired Close To My Heart Secret Garden Paper Packet creating plenty of “white” space.
  • Rectangle Shape: (2” x 3¼”) Smoky Slate Fabric patterned piece of paper from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Shapes – Circle Accent Mats: Silver Adhesive-Backed Glimmer paper retired and still in my stash punched out with the (1¾”) Circle Punch still available as an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Shapes – Floral Circles: Smoky Slate Lace patterned piece of paper, also from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the (1⅝”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Sentiment – Celebrate: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the Celebrate Word die from the Wanted To Say Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Three shimmery Pink-Toned Tinsel Gems were added to the center of the Floral Circles.

A modern take with untraditional colors for a Holiday card but pretty enough to use for any special celebratory event.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
