Design Team Time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#488) where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs. Today? The card can be found on page 28 of the Sep – Dec Mini Catalog.

I flipped the sketch 180 degrees and opted to keep a Christmas design so I could play with Just Us Girls (#754) picking up colors and elements from their Holiday Mood Board and Festive Friday (#173) choosing Red, Green, Christmas Sentiment, Embossing and Trees from the selection list. I am also sharing this card with Love Those Pretty Papers (#4) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Card Front: (4¼” x 5½”) Red and White Diagonal Striped patterned piece of paper from the Take A Bow Designer Series Paper pack.
- Accent Mat and Sentiment Label: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Basic White cardstock.
- The sentiment, Merry Christmas to You, from the Christmas Labels stamp set was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink and die-cut with the coordinating Embossing die from the Christmas Labels Dies set.
- Color was added to the Christmas lettering with the Light Real Red Stampin’ Blends Marker.
- Focal Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Candy Cane Snowflake patterned piece of paper from the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper pack.
- The card was assembled.
- The Card Front DSP was adhered in place.
- The Focal Panel was added to the Accent Mat, covering the die-cut hole and adhered in place.
- The Sentiment Label was popped up with Dimensionals.
This card reminds me of the Candy and Treat filled Stockings we would find under the Tree. This was the only thing we could open on Christmas Morning…that is until our parents made an appearance.
Happy Holidays! It is the Thanksgiving week and if you are scrambling to get your Christmas cards ready…pretty papers and a sentiment to the rescue.
Looking forward to seeing how you choose to use the sketch.
