Country Denim – Thank You

Design Team Time: This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#361) the theme is Thankful and at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#452), we have a very versatile sketch.

To that end, I was inspired by the colors and country theme suggested by the photograph at Inspired By (#311) creating a clean and simple card for Krafty Chicks (#743) and sharing with Shopping Our Stash (#535) for their masculine theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Whitewashed Wood patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
• Banner Flags: (4¾” x 1¾”) Gray Wood patterned piece of paper and (4” x 1¾”) Misty Moonlight Painted Wood patterned piece of paper, also from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack hand-flagged with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Label: (3” x 1¾”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2½” x 1⅝”) Notched Rectangular die from the Something Fancy Dies set.
  • The word, Thanks, from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink and the edges were sponged with the same color using a Sponge Dauber.
• Decoration – Pinecones and Bough Branches: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • Using the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush, splotches of Pecan Pie, Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight and Boho Blue were painted.
  • Once dry, the Misty Moonlight patch was die-cut with the Bough Branch die from the retired Joy of Noel Dies set; the Boho Blue patch was die-cut with the Bough Branch die from the retired Christmas Banners Dies set; and the Pecan Pie and Early Espresso patches were die cut with the Small Pinecone dies from the retired Beautiful Boughs Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Pinecones were popped up with Dimensionals.

A great little clean and simple thank you card for any fellow.
