Changing Leaves – Thank You

Design Team Time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#487) where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 49 of the Sep – Dec Mini Catalog.  

My design was influenced by a number of current challenges. 

TGIF (#499) has an Autumn Leave theme going and over at Facebook’s Global Design Project (#472) we are asked to CASE Cindy Timmers lovely card.  She used the Changing Leaves stamp set and selected some very subtle colors along with some gold embossing.  All of which I incorporated in my card.

I wanted to create a clean and simple card (a favorite style of mine) for Paper Craft Crew (#596) looking for a #simplestamping project and this card is just stamps, ink and paper with a little bit of bling by adding gold embossing.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
• Mask: (4¼” x 5½”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • With a Ruler and Pencil, the Box Shapes were measured and drawn.  Top Left (1½” x 2”), Top Right (2” x 2”), Bottom Left (1¾” x 2½”), Middle Right (1¾” x ½”) and Bottom Right (1¾” x 1¾”) with an approximate (¼”) Border.
  • Using the Hobby Blade attachment for the Take Your Pick Tool, the Box Shapes were cut-out.
• Focal Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The Mask was set in place and using Blending Brushes, Pool Party, Petal Pink and Crumb Cake inks were added and blended from top to bottom in an Ombre effect.
  • The Mask was removed.
  • The large Leaf, medium Leaf and Thank you sentiment, from the Changing Leaves stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, were all stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder.

The Focal Panel was added to the card base, completing the card.

I like the cascade effect of one idea inspiring another resulting in a very pretty thank you card.
