Changing Leaves – Thinking of You

Design Team Time: This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#356), the challenge is to use Embossing Techniques – Wet, Dry or both and at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#447), we are given a Hello Fall Mood Board for inspiration.  I chose to combine the two.

I chose the Sketch Saturday (#759) layout flipped to the vertical and sharing with Can You Handle The Pressure (#63) for their focus on embossing and the current Fall Colors Twist.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Cajun Craze cardstock.
• Top Panel: (4” x 1¾”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of You, from the now retired Gnomes for Summer stamp set, a CTMH product that was available as an On-Line Exclusive, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
  • The Panel was dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and the corners were punched with the retired Corner Rounder Punch and then using a Sponge Dauber, Garden Green ink was added to the edges.
• Bottom Panel: (4” x 3¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • The Panel was dry-embossed with the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder, the corners were rounded, and Garden Green ink was added to the Trees and the edges with the Sponge Dauber.
• Decoration – Leaf: Crushed Curry cardstock scrap.
  • The Leaf image from the Changing Leaves stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Cajun Craze ink and embossed and die-cut with the coordinating Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Leaf was popped up the with Dimensionals.

The leaves, they are changing and a walk through the forest is the best way to see them.
