Dragonfly Garden

Welcome back!  Friday already…hope you have some fun weekend plans.

Play time!  Cupcake Inspirations (#601) is featuring Insects and I chose one of the prettiest.  I selected the color line-up from CAS Colours & Sketches (#544) and the sketch suggested by the Facebook Global Design Project (#462) team to complete my card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (4¼” x 8¾” scored at 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5⅛”) Misty Moonlight cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
• Accent Mat (1): (3¼” x 4½”) Basic White cardstock.
• Accent Mat (2): Blackberry Bliss cut a smidge smaller.
• Accent Mat (3): (3⅛” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Accent Mat (4): Mossy Meadow cardstock cut a smidge smaller.
• Focal Panel: (3” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment statement be yourself (Misty Moonlight) except if you can be a dragonfly (Mossy Meadow) and as you were always meant to fly (Mossy Meadow) was computer generated and printed.
  • The Tab sentiment then always be a dragonfly (Misty Moonlight) piece was also printed and trimmed to (3” x ½”) and the edges were colored with Blackberry Bliss ink using a Sponge Dauber.
• Focal Image – Dragonfly: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Dragonfly image from the retired Dragonfly Garden stamp set was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and colored over with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter.  Hard to see, but oh so pretty.
  • The Dragonfly was then punched out with coordinating retired Dragonfly Punch.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Three Basic Rhinestone Jewels were colored with the Dark Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Markers and added for a bit of bling and the Dragonfly was popped up with Dimensionals. 

A nice little encouragement card with a few accent layers but essentially still a clean and simple card.
