Day At The Farm – Hey, Chick

Hi again!  Chasing a deadline…and having a little fun…

Over at Farm Quest (#59), the challenge is to create with “R” Farm or Forest Animals and I chose Rooster(s).

Over at Alphabet the current Letter is “L” for Landscape and over at Shopping Our Stash (#530), we need to confess a crafting weakness…and mine is patterned paper.  To that effect, I selected a piece that was a Landscape.

And lastly, over at Inkspirational (#324), we are tasked to Make Our Mark with a favorite coloring medium and mine is using Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Here is the result:

HEY, CHICK – FLOWING FLOWERS – DAY AT THE FARM DSP – FQCB59 – Alphabet Letter “L” – SOS530 – IC324

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Farm Fields patterned piece of paper from the retired Day At The Farm Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Image – Rooster(s): Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The two Roosters / Hens images from the retired Hey, Chick stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Birds were colored with Light Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • The sentiment, Time for a happy dance, from the retired Flowing Flowers stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with one of the Tag dies from the retired Tailor Made Tags Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base.  The sentiment Tag and the Birds were popped up with Dimensionals.  The Tag was adorned a little bit of retired Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon.

What a fun little card!  Time to Celebrate…

  1. These plump dancing roosters are a hoot!!! Or maybe I should say they’re a ‘doodle-de-do’!!! I’m loving the farm landscape scene, too. Some farmers who got their crops in early have started harvesting this week so our farming landscapes are changing! There are some country intersections that I can’t wait to have the crops removed! Corn on 3 corners of the intersection is sometimes a scary risk when you’re in the driver’s seat! Take care and thanks for creating and sharing for FarmQuest #59! = Becca
