Happiest Day – Thinking of You

Hi again! I had some time to play in the Studio this afternoon…

The challenges: Freshly Made (#651) Sketch; Color Dare (#616) Palette; Hearts Quest (#61) Elements; and Critter Crazy (#90) Theme.

Here is the result:

HAPPIEST DAY – SKETCHED PLAID – HOME TO ROOST – FMS651 – CD616 – HQCB61 – 2CCCB90

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Crumb Cake (Brown #1) cardstock dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Side Panel: (2¾” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock stamped with the Sketched Plaid Background stamp using Pecan Pie (Brown #2) ink for my “Wire Mesh”.
  • Accent Strip: (½” x 5½”) Cherry Cobbler (One Color) cardstock scrap.
  • Shape – Rooster: (2” x 2”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Rooster image from the retired Home To Roost stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso (Brown #3) ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors Chosen: Face – Light Crumb Cake; Body – Light Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie blended; Comb, Wattle and Tail Feathers – Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler.
    • The Rooster was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment: (3” x ⅞”) Cherry Cobbler cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thinking of you today and every day, from the Happiest Day stamp set was stamped on the slight diagonal with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Embellishment – Paper Clip: Early Espresso cardstock scrap die-cut with the Heart Paper Clip die from the retired Project Life Paper Clip Thinlits Dies set.
    • The Paper Clip was then dry-embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and the Woodgrain was enhanced with Craft White ink using a Sponge Dauber.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Both the Rooster and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals

A fun card for a friend who loves and collects Roosters.
