Summer Breeze – It’s Your Day

Welcome back!  A fresh why not card for you today…

Design Team Time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#475).  The weekly Catalog CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) of cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 86 of the Annual Catalog.   We invite you to re-create it any way you like.

I was inspired by the Just Add Ink (#716) Mediterranean Staircase and am sharing this card with Shopping Our Stash (#529) for a Just Because, why not theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Watercolor Paper (from my 9” x 12”) Block.
• Focal Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Watercolor Paper (from the same sheet).
  • Using a (1”) Craft Foam Brush and water, I picked up Azure Afternoon ink that I had applied to a large Clear Stamp Block and painted the three Rectangle Shapes.
  • Once the ink was dry, I added some decoration with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Azure Afternoon ink using the Filigree image from the retired Amazing Life stamp set.
  • The sentiment, It’s Your Day, from the Penciled Pear stamp set was stamped with Petunia Pop ink.
• Decoration – Flower Pots: (3½” x 4”) Watercolor Paper (from the same sheet).
  • Using Blending Brushes, Petunia Pop ink was brushed across the top (1”) on both sides, back and front; then Daffodil Delight ink was added in the central (2”) and over brushed with Old Olive ink; and then Pecan Pie ink was brushed in the lower (1”).
  • Using the Floral and the Leaf dies from the Thoughtful Wishes Dies set, five Floral Stems were die-cut and four Leaves were die-cut. 
  • Using the retired Balloon Bouquet Punch, two small Balloons were punched out of the Pecan Pie section and trimmed with Paper Snips to be the Pots.  

The Flower Pots were assembled, popped up with Dimensionals and adhered to the “Steps”.

Such a fresh and summery hello card.
