Very Merry – Holiday Kitty Kat Koffee Kup

Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#704) challenge.  This week, Jaydee has chosen a fun little Sketch for us to work with.  Lots of possibilities!

How about an unusually colored Holiday card?

I selected the Facebook Colour INKspiration (#171) palette; Caffeinated Christmas (#32) looking for a cute Critter; and chose a Kitty Kat for Alphabet (Letter K).

Now I do not have a lot of “Cute Critters” that I can use for a Coffee theme, so as usual I needed to create my own.  A perusal of Pinterest for image ideas yielded a cute one on Freepik.  I just redrew it free-hand.

Here is the result:

HAND-DRAWN IMAGE – ITTY BITTY CHRISTMAS – PP704 – CI171 – CCCC32 – Alphabet Letter K

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock for square card.
  • Side Panel (1): (2” x 4”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Side Panel (2): (2” x 4”) Summer Splash Striped piece of patterned paper from the 2024/2026 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Center Support Shape – Circle: (3½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the Dotted (3¼”) Circle die from the Nested Essentials Dies set.
    • The sentiment, Very Merry, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink.
    • The Circle was then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Focal Image – Kitty Kat Koffee Kup: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • Using a Pencil, I drew the image.  I then completed the drawing with my Fine-Tipped Liquid Gel Pen and erased the pencil markings
    • The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Cheeks and Nose – Light Pretty in Pink; Markings and Shadows – Light Smoky Slate; Hat – Light Summer Splash and Berry Burst; Holly – Light and Dark Summer Splash; Berries – Dark Blackberry Bliss; and Kup – Light Berry Burst.
    • The image was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Kitty Kat Koffee Kup was popped up with Dimensionals.

I love the Kitty Kat’s expression…either sneaking a peek at the presents or making sure you are not peeking…

This was a fun card to make.
