Special Moments – Thinking of You

Design Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#445) we have an interesting set of colors to play with.

Several other challenges informed my design decisions.  The AAA Cards (#272) Sketch for a clean and simple, single layer card; Just Add Ink (#715) to play with Shadows; and the Facebook Global Design Project (#459) for their Greenery theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Circle, Square, Large Rectangle and Smaller Rectangle images from the retired Watercolor Shapes stamp set were stamped with 2^nd Generation (stamped off once) Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat and Blackberry Bliss inks respectively overlapping each other.
  • Using the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker, Shadows were added to the right side and bottom of all the Shapes.
  • The sentiment, thinking of you, from the retired Special Moments stamp set was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and then stamped again over it slightly to the right and down with Smoky Slate ink creating a Shadow.
  • The Leaf Skeleton images from the retired Loyal Leaves stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder.

And that was it!  A card that is unisex but works really well for a fellow due to the darker color palette.
