Count on Me for Birthday Wishes

Welcome back!  A little birthday card for you today…

Over at Seize The Birthday (#289), they are looking for cute critters. So many “critters” in my stash but by far, the little bear from Count On Me is a clear favorite. I selected the Tuesday Morning (#769) Sketch, keeping it clean and simple along with the Shopping Our Stash (#528) Color suggestion to complete my project.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the retired Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped with Crumb Cake ink.
  • The Panel was then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a wee bit of texture.
• Flagged Strip: (4½” x ¾”) Swirled Crumb Cake patterned piece of paper from the retired Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper pack hand-flagged with Paper Snips.
• Shape – Bear: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Bear image from the retired Count On Me stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink and Colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Bear – Light and Dark Crumb Cake; Snout – Light Pretty in Pink; and Heart – Dark Cherry Cobbler.
  • A few details such as the eye, nose, smile were highlighted using my Black Fine-Tipped Liquid Gel Pen.
  • The Bear was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Bear was popped up with Dimensionals.
