Planted Paradise – With Love

Welcome back!  It’s Friday!!  Hoping you have a fantastic weekend and some time to be creative.

We are having a lovely day with lower humidity which makes it a great time to be outdoors tending to the garden and the house plants.

That said, I am playing with Farm Quest (#58) creating a Potting Bench and Heart’s Quest (#60) Potted Plants and Hearts.  I chose the palette suggested by Color Throwdown (#806) and the current Facebook Global Design Project (#458) sketch.

Here is the result:

PLANTED PARADISE – THROUGH IT TOGETHER – FQBB58 – HQCH60 – CTD806 – GDP458

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Bottom 3rd Area – Potting Bench: (12” x ¾”) Wood Textured Specialty Paper colored with Pecan Pie ink applied with a Blending Brush.  Bench Top: (3¾” x ¾”) and Bench Legs: (2½” x ¾”) cut in a diagonal half.
  • Middle 3rd Area – Potted Plants: Crushed Curry and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock scraps.
    • The two smaller Plant Pot images from the Planted Paradise stamp set were stamped a number of times with Crushed Curry ink and fussy cut with Paper Snips.
    • Similarly, Various Leaf images from the same stamp set were stamped with Garden Green ink and fussy-cut.
    • The Plants were arranged and adhered in place.
  • Top 3rd Area – Sentiment: Garden Green cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, with much love, from the retired Through It Together stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2⅝” x ⅜”) Elongated Ticket Punch Corner die from the retired Sending Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base.  Two additional Pots were set under the Potting Bench and three Hearts were punched out with the retired Owl Builder Punch to decorate the middle Pot.

Happy is the heart that has time to potter about in the garden…

  1. What a terrific double-play for HQCB #60 and FQCB #58!! Awesome! The wood table is a great structural element for pots, both on the ‘ground’ and on top of it! The white embossed background makes me think of painted concrete blocks or bricks–such a great idea. Thanks for creating and sharing at both Quest blogs! –Becca
