Daring Adventure

Welcome back!  A brand-new week…hope it will be a good one.

A few guy challenges are about.  Over at Inspire Create (#174), the theme is Men; The Male Room (#189), a site for guy cards, is asking us to employ mixed media styling; Park Hopping (August) have Harry Potter – Steam Punk themed inspiration photos; and the Facebook SU! Colour (August) palette truly lends itself to a masculine vibe.

Here is the result:

MIXED MEDIA – STAMP SET SCRAMBLE – ICC174 – TMR189 – PH August 2024 – SUCC August 2024

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using several stamp sets in my collection, I created a one-layer clean and simple, #simplestamping card using just stamps, ink and paper.
    • Stamping Order:
      • The Schematic image from the retired In This World stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
      • One of the Texture images from the Of Art & Texture stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with 3rd Generation (stamped off twice) Wild Wheat ink directly over the Schematic image.
      • The Text Block image from the retired Daring Adventure stamp set was selectively inked with Misty Moonlight ink using a Sponge Dauber and then pressed onto the Panel.
      • The Fleur-de-Lis image from the retired Timeless Textures stamp set was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Misty Moonlight ink.
      • The Bicycle image from the retired Fun On Wheels stamp set was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Basic Gray ink.
      • The Ink Splat image from the retired Textures & Frames stamp set was stamped with Wild Wheat ink.
      • The Ink Splatter image from the Of Art & Texture stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.
      • The quote, Life is either a Daring Adventure or Nothing – Helen Keller, from the Daring Adventure stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • Using Blending Brushes, Wild Wheat and Misty Moonlight inks were added to the Panel edges.

While Mixed Media may include different materials and/or color mediums, I liked how the images chosen and the ink colors work for a fun guy collage card.
